Kissel is a popular dessert in Ukraine. It can be made with such berries and fruits as strawberries, raspberries, black and red currants, apples, pears, etc.

Ingredients:
– 2 cups strawberries
– 6 cups water
– 6 tbsp potato starch
– Sugar, to taste

Cooking Instructions:
1. Wash and hull strawberries.
2. In a large saucepan, bring strawberries and water to a boil.
3. Add sugar.
4. Dissolve potato starch in cold water. Add it to the strawberry syrup.
5. Bring the kissel to a boil and turn off the heat.
6. Pour kissel in bowls and let completely cool. Then chill in a refrigerator.
7. Serve cold.

Unniyappam is a typical prasadam, which means an “offering,” sold at Hindu temples in Kerala. It’s a fried banana and rice flour ball.

Ingredients:
– 1/2 cup shredded coconut
– 1 cup jaggery
– 1 1/2 cup water
– 1 1/2 cup rice flour
– 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
– 2 bananas
– 1 tsp cardamom powder
– 1 tsp sesame seeds
– 1/2 tsp baking soda
– 1/8 tsp salt
– Oil

Cooking Instructions:
1. In a small pan, roast the coconut until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and let it cool.
2. Heat the jaggery with water until completely melted. Filter the jaggery syrup through a fine mesh strainer and let it cool.
3. Mash the bananas and add them to the syrup.
4. Grind the mixture to a smooth paste.
5. Dry-roast the rice and whole wheat flour for about 1 minute. Let it cool.
6. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour, syrup with bananas and coconut.
7. Add water (about 1 cup), if needed.
8. Leave the batter to rest for 20 minutes.
9. Add the salt, baking soda, cardamom powder, roasted sesame seeds and mix well until combined.
10. Heat the paniyaram pan with oil in each hole and fill 3/4th of the hole with prepared batter.
11. Cook over low-medium heat until both sides are golden brown. Check by inserting a toothpick in the centre.

Kholvaitar, also known as a liquid halva, is a famous dessert in Uzbekistan.

Ingredients:
– 1 cup flour
– 1/2 cup vegetable oil
– 1 cup sugar
– 3 cups water

Cooking Instructions:
1. Boil sugar and water to make a syrup.
2. In a separate pan, mix flour with oil. Cook until brown.
3. Slowly add the hot syrup to a flour mixture.
4. Keep boiling, constantly stirring, until desired thickness.
5. Let cool. Serve in a bowl.

Thai fruit salad is a popular dish not only in Thailand, but all over the world. It can be served as an appetizer or a dessert.

Ingredients:
– 1 cup fresh pineapple
– 1 cup mango
– 1 cup lychee fruit
– 1 cup strawberries
– 1 banana
– 1 star fruit
– 1/4 cup coconut milk
– 1 tbsp lime juice
– Sugar, to taste

Cooking Instructions:
1. Stir together coconut milk, lime juice and sugar to make a dressing.
2. Cube pineapple and mango.
3. Slice banana and star fruit.
4. Place fruits in a mixing bowl.
5. Pour the dressing over and toss well to mix.
6. Scoop the fruit salad into a serving bowl.
7. Before serving garnish with a star fruit slice.
